Anything is possible with ambition, creativity and perseverance.

- James Wallace, Braveheart Films

Braveheart Films is evolving into a one-stop hub for Australian screen storytelling — from development to distribution. Founded by writer–producer James Wallace, Braveheart is expanding into a company with the capability to:

  • Quantitatively assess screenplays and projects through its proprietary Precision Film Forecasting (PFF) model.

  • Allocate development funds strategically to projects that meet rigorous creative and commercial criteria.

  • Raise capital across equity, debt, and sponsorship channels.

  • Produce feature films with international market appeal.

  • Manage theatrical P&A campaigns, including media buying, publicity, and impact-driven audience engagement.

At Braveheart’s core is a strict success model: only projects that meet elite benchmarks of script quality, team strength, and financial viability move forward. This approach ensures Braveheart is not just making films, but building a sustainable pipeline for quality Australian cinema with global resonance.

Current Slate with Storm Ashwood (Director/Producer)

  • The Secret Moon — a socially urgent heist thriller confronting the hidden world of child trafficking.

  • The Soho Oracle — a romantic drama ranked among the top emerging screenplays globally.

  • TRADERS — a financial thriller adapted from James Wallace’s acclaimed novel TRADERS - The Whale’s Wager.

  • Once Upon a Time in Australia — a sweeping, original Australian story of passion and revenge. It’s Kill Bill in the Australian outback.

About James Wallace

James Wallace is an Australian author, screenwriter, and film producer with a unique background in high-stakes currency trading. His 26 years in global financial markets, including senior roles at Westpac (Sydney/New York) and Citigroup, as well as founding Camelotfund and Excalibur Funds, inform the risk-savvy and analytical approach he now applies to filmmaking. His trading strategies earned him global recognition, including Barclay Hedge Top 10 FX Firms in 2010 and 2014.

As producer of The Secret Moon, James brings financial expertise, passion for impactful stories and a strong desire for social change. The next two films in the Braveheart Films / Storm Ashwood Projects slate are The Soho Oracle and TRADERS, both based on novels written by Wallace.

James’ work is deeply shaped by a commitment to social justice. His passion for the fight against human slavery and child trafficking directly inspired his involvement in The Secret Moon. His creative work is equally influenced by his academic study under genocide scholar Dr Colin Tatz at Macquarie University, and by his own music — his song Can You Feel It featured in his Nine Network documentary Life Challenge Kokoda.

Today, James is focused on building Braveheart Films into a globally respected production hub that unites financial acumen, creative vision, and social conscience.
